Saints in the Catholic Church are individuals recognized as having lived lives of heroic virtue, holiness, and faith, and who are now believed to be in heaven. There are 53 recognized saints and 158 blessed members within the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). A significant number, 34 of the saints and 149 of the blessed, are martyrs. We have a significant number of members on the path to sainthood, with 15 venerable servants of God currently recognized. Key figures currently on this path include Frs. Pedro Arrupe, Rutilio Grande, Ante Gabric, Maria Louis Leveil, Joseph Beschi etc.
